A new purchase has been added to the group. Top level sprinter BARZALONA has been purchased by the Gulf Racing Club. The four year-old is coming off a fantastic run in The Bantry Bay Stakes. He finished 6th, beaten only 2.80 lengths by Surjay and Kommetdieding. It will be a quick turn around for his new owners as he will run in the Gr2 Cape Merchants (R450 000) on December 11th. He was taken up for a bit of room in the Bantry Bay and certainly could have been closer. This last run proves he is very capable of performing in the top sprints this season. He still has youth on his side and has proven himself to be a tough campaigner who has been running well since the first juvenile races.

Once again we are sticking to our main philosophy of buying horses in training. Here we have a MR105 colt, ready to run in group races, for the price of an “average” yearling! Just last week buyers were purchasing yearlings for hundreds of thousands of rands, horses that will take six to twelve months to run. Once they do, 95% or more will not be as good as BARZALONA is! It’s the proverbial NO BRAINER!
We have packaged a once off payment package for the horse, which takes us up to July 31 and the end of this racing season. It includes all training and vet bills, only major race nominations and transport are not included. Below is his programme for the season:
